a) Image Upload Methods
You can upload images by either using our web upload form or ftp.
Web upload form
i) Please visit www.blackboxalbum.com and click on Photographers’ login
ii) Key in your email address and password
iii) After login to photographer’s area, click on “add photos”
iv) Upload the file and fill in the relevant information.
FTP
If you have a large number of images this is the easiest, fastest and most convenient way to upload them.
To upload image files using ftp, please use the ftp information that we emailed to you when you first signed up as a photographer.
b) Image Upload Rules
All images uploaded should be large, sharp and properly lit. We are looking for images that are creative, useful, interesting and of high commercial value. The images must fulfill the following requirements:
- File format: JPEG (RGB)
- Maximum file size: 7 megabytes
- Minimum dimensions: 800 x 600 pixels
Our main focus is quality of the image. We reserve the right to reject images that we find unsuitable or inappropriate for our website. Before uploading your images, please make sure you did the following:
i) Make sure your images are sharp, noise free and clear.
ii) Adjust brightness and levels and make sure images are not under or over exposed.
iii) Rotate the photo if necessary. We reject images which are upside down or rotated in the wrong direction.
iv) Adjust the composition to get rid of unnecessary parts or distracting elements.
v) Remove copyrighted content, logos and trademarks.
vi) Remove watermarks, texts, dates and frame
4.0 Please DO NOT UPLOAD
a) Images with any text, timestamp or watermark
b) Images with frames
c) Images containing copyrighted material (paintings, posters, advertisements, CD / book / DVD covers, logos etc)
d) Adult / violent content
e) Images with excessive blur, noise or bad JPEG quality
f) Images which are too dark or badly lit
g) Images rotated in the wrong direction
h) Images that contain subject which are too small or are barely visible
i) Portraits and people shots without signed model release
5.0 Themes that We Are Always Looking For
Creative and interesting images of high commercial value, with themes in business, computers, contemporary life scenes, isolated objects, portraits and seasonal images etc.
6.0 Themes that We Are Not So Keen On
Images of sunsets, landscapes, flowers and pets etc. We are selective about images with these themes. Remember, we are looking for high commercial value photos.
Images on BLACKBOX ALBUM come in the following sizes depending on the original size of the uploaded image:
- S ~ 0.5 megapixels
- M ~ 4 megapixels
- L ~ 7 megapixels
Uploaded images are downsampled to all the sizes that are smaller than the original size, and if the original size is close enough to a higher category, it will be available in the higher category as well.
BLACKBOX ALBUM STRICTLY PROHIBITS HOME UPSAMPLING of images to fit them into a higher category. You can lose your account by deceiving our customers!
